Lenovo position to buy BlackBerry
The Chinese manufacturer confirms its interest in the Canadian manufacturer signing a confidentiality agreement to access their accounts. But the federal government of Canada has the means to oppose the acquisition.
Lenovo did not resist the appeal of BlackBerry . After
barely concealed his intentions in March , indicating the voice of its
CEO Yang Yuanqing be interested in buying BlackBerry while it was not
even on sale yet , the announcement is the official time. The
Chinese manufacturer has , according to the Wall Street Journal, signed
a confidentiality agreement to access the accounts of the Canadian
manufacturer of smartphones. The
list of contenders for the purchase of BlackBerry stretches (the fund
Fairfax Financial, the former co-founder Mike Lazaridis Blackberry and
Douglas Fregin , but also Cisco , Google or SAP ) .However, if the prospect of a takeover interest Lenovo and other foreign actors, nothing says Canadian governments stand idly by to see them off to other lands one of the pearls of the industrial countries. According to the Investment Canada Act, the federal government can very well oppose its veto redemption citing two clauses : the lack of benefit to the country and the threat to national security. However, if the construction activity is not really a major strategic problem , the secure network messaging BlackBerry Messenger is much more sensitive .
The information comes just days after the group announced that it has signed a contract with KPMG Italy. And so for a project that focuses on the delivery of no less than 3500 BlackBerry 10 , and deployment of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server 10 Service to administer this new fleet of smartphones.
