Twitter plans to launch an instant messaging application

According to AllThingsD , the social network would seek to compete with Facebook and Whatsapp on this niche and strengthen ties within the community.

A few weeks before its IPO (read: Twitter How to become a giant web of 04/10/13 ) , Twitter seems to go further in the direct exchange of messages between members. After announcing that its users can now send and receive private messages without the need to follow one another, the social network is working on another novelty . According to AllThingsD , Twitter is preparing to compete with WhatsApp , Kakao Talk Line and by creating its own app instant messaging applications. In its pre- IPO document also mentions Twitter Kakao as its main conccurent South Korea .

According to AllThingsD , the development in this direction is new : Twitter has long been a supporter of the " all- public" , some employees are even often pronounced for the total elimination of direct messages at the beginning of the history of the social network. Finally , Twitter seems to take the opposite direction , hoping surely solve the problem of user growth (read: Twitter is condemned to remain a niche site , the 10/8/13 ? ) . The application should be available before the end of the year.
