Windows 8 and 8.1 : more than 9% market share

The market shares of the two new Microsoft OS cumulative reach 9.25% . From one month to the next, the penetration rate of 8.1 Windows Password 0.87% to 1.72 %.

The figures from Net Applications fell for the month of October. Compared to September , the cumulative penetration of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 were up 0.36 point to 9.25 %. In detail, the market share of Windows 8 down for the first time. It was down 0.49 points to 7.49% . And the Windows 8.1 increases by 0.85 percentage point to 1.72% . At the same time , Windows 7 recorded a modest increase of 0.03 points : its penetration rate increased from 46.39 % to 46.42% . As for the updated OS X 10.9 , it reached 0.84% .

Gains of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 are detrimental to Windows Vista, whose market share declined 0.35 points ( 3.63 % ) and to a lesser extent Windows XP ( -0.18 point) which nevertheless remains above 30 % ( 31.24% ) . But the downward trend of Windows, since the beginning of the year tends to confirm , with a decline of OS 0.15 points between September and October ( 90.66 %). A movement that is also done for the benefit of OS X ( 7.73 +0.19 %).
