SQL Server 2014 on the launch pad Go

On the occasion of the Pass Summit 2013 , Microsoft introduced the CTP 2 of its database. A new version that improves its ability to offset server on Azure cloud .

Following the first revelations about SQL Server 2014 , on the occasion of TechEd in June, Microsoft said a little more this week on the next version of its database . At its 2013 Summit Pass , the publisher has unveiled a new pre-release server: SQL Server 2014 CTP 2 .Among the main changes , SQL Server 2014 focuses on two main areas . First, the management of the execution memory (in- memory) . This evolution ( codenamed Hekaton ) opens new capabilities OLTP ( Online Transaction Processing for ) which , according to Microsoft , would multiply by 30 the number of managed per second on the same machine transactions. To this is added a compilation to native code stored procedures ( written in Transact-SQL ) . The real-time Big Data looming in the viewfinder of Microsoft .Then, SQL Server 2014 introduces new possibilities for integrating the basis for cloud architectures . Microsoft had already announced that the new version is optimized to handle the overflow of internal data center to Azure , the cloud or to another service provider ( leaning against the technology stack and Azure Services). With this 2 CTP SQL Server 2014, the group introduced a mechanism for data recovery disaster combining replication process on Azure server restore internal data and replicated.The device comes with a PRA ability to run files from the SQL Server database on Azure , to accelerate the ability to return to work after a disaster.
